About Darla

I love being able to put down
on paper what is in my
heart.  I have always had the
gift of being able to express
myself either with words or
songs.  Words can do so
much, hurt you or make you
smile.  I prefer to do the
latter.
I was born in Modesto, Ca.  
and  raised in a very strict
home .  I was taught good
morals that I pass on to my
children and grandchildren
every day.
I am a published poet and
am currently writing a book.  
Writing seems to be a great
form of expression for me.  I
love to help others and so
here I am.  

Here is a poem I wrote for my Mom:

A WOMAN, A MOTHER, A FRIEND

A woman of grace full of love
A mother of three sent from above,
A friend to all who you have met
A woman whose heart you won’t forget.
You are these things and many more
We know you best and we adore,
Not only the woman, the mother, the friend
But who you are until the end.
Your smile warms the cold long days
Your love forever with us will stay.
No matter what you’re always there
Showing just how much you care.
So on this special birthday for you
I want to say thanks for all you do.
I could not ask for a more loving mom
A love unlike the words of a song.
So many have heard it all before
But I have lived it at my hearts door.
Your beauty shines above all the rest
Because of you giving your best.
There aren’t many as fortunate as I
For a mother whose love will never die.
A woman of worth you’ll always be
A diamond waiting for the world to see.
A friend whose heart is ever giving
A spirit that longs to keep on living.
A mother you have always been
But most of all you’re my best friend.
