This is poem that I wrote for my Mom:

A WOMAN, A MOTHER, A FRIEND

A woman of grace full of love
A mother of three sent from above,
A friend to all who you have met
A woman whose heart you won’t forget.
You are these things and many more
We know you best and we adore,
Not only the woman, the mother, the friend
But who you are until the end.
Your smile warms the cold long days
Your love forever with us will stay.
No matter what you’re always there
Showing just how much you care.
So on this special birthday for you
I want to say thanks for all you do.
I could not ask for a more loving mom
A love unlike the words of a song.
So many have heard it all before
But I have lived it at my hearts door.
Your beauty shines above all the rest
Because of you giving your best.
There aren’t many as fortunate as I
For a mother whose love will never die.
A woman of worth you’ll always be
A diamond waiting for the world to see.
A friend whose heart is ever giving
A spirit that longs to keep on living.
A mother you have always been
But most of all you’re my best friend.

Happy Birthday with Love,

A Poem for a Man who got a puppy

It was a night like any other
Singing songs on my machine,
When suddenly you appeared
My heart swelled at the scene.
There you were before me
Adorable and cute,
From your little puppy eyes
To your little puppy suit.
Little did you know that day
My heart longed for your touch,
Now that you are here
I love you oh so much.
Together we will stay
Through thick and thin we'll be,
No one will ever know
How much you mean to me.
Written for a man who got bit by a dog

Twas two weeks before Christmas
So much to do,
Had to drive to Fresno
For the dreaded walk thru.
While there I encountered
A most frightening site,
A little furry animal
Looking for a bite.
No matter how softly
In his house I did tread,
He bounded right for me
Not thinking ahead.
A bite I did feel,
And then some cold air,
As I realized quite suddenly
My pants had a tear.
I jumped at the pain
And out of there I did go,
While others stood around
And made fun of the show.
Now home again
Taking care of the pain,
Tread softly little doggy
You're next on the food chain.
This was written for a beautiful
woman who had lost the love of her
life.

A man of great stature
Sean was his name,
For all who knew him
“Big fella” was his claim to fame.
Very well loved
He gave much in return,
To his wife and his friends
And to Cooper his heart did burn.
He loved without restriction
Gave all of himself to life,
He loved music, to cook, and dance
His heart belonged to his wife.
Julie and Cooper his two great loves
Were always on his mind,
And they would always be
Forever intertwined.
At 41 years of age
Life was precious to him,
Like his fine wine
His heart was filled to the brim.
Too suddenly he was taken
To a new home up above,
No longer here with us
Now flying high with the dove.
A devoted father and husband
No one can take his place,
In our hearts and minds
His memory we embrace.
He ever watches over us
We can still feel his love,
And though we miss him dearly
He’s a man we’re still proud of.
A man of great stature
Sean was his name,
Our life, our love, our hearts
Will never be the same.
He touched us so lovingly
Gave so much to all,
We shall forever miss him
“Big fella” standing tall.
